Account & Data Deletion
Otlak (Herd Management) mobile app
This page explains how to delete your Otlak (Herd Management) account and the data associated with it. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
1. Delete from within the app
The fastest way is the in-app option:
- Open the Otlak app and sign in to your account.
- Go to Settings → Profile.
- Tap Delete My Account.
- Confirm by entering your password for security.
Your account and data are removed from our servers as soon as you confirm — there is no waiting period.
If you are the owner of a shared farm that still has other members, you must remove those members before deleting your account. Otherwise the request is rejected so that the other members' data stays intact.
2. Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, write to us from the email address registered to your account:
Because the request comes from your registered address, no further identity verification is needed. Requests are completed within 30 days at the latest.
3. Data that is deleted
When your account is deleted, the following is permanently removed:
- Account details: email address, authentication record, profile information
- Animal records: animals, ear tag numbers, pedigree data, animal photos you uploaded
- Production and health records: milk records, health records, insemination and pregnancy records, live weight measurements
- Operational records: rations, feed records, paddocks, financial records, tasks, notes and notifications
- Your device push notification token and app preferences
If you are the only member of your farm, all farm data is deleted as part of this process.
4. Data that is retained, and for how long
- If you are only a member of a shared farm: your account and personal records are deleted, but the farm's shared data remains with the farm owner.
- Subscription and purchase records: payments are processed through Google Play. These records are held by Google, cannot be deleted by us, and are subject to Google's retention policy.
- Legal retention obligations: payment and invoicing records are kept for the period required by applicable law.
- System backups: deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days, after which it is fully removed.
5. Your subscription
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription. To stop being billed, cancel it separately in the Google Play app under Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions.
